Glossary
A hyperlink is a word, sentence or picture that can be clicked on to open up some new information related to it.
A URL is the address of a website that is typed in to find it on the internet (e.g. www.mirrormouthpiece.co.uk).
HTML is hidden instructions that the computer uses to specify how text should look (e.g. colour, font, underlined etc).
How to add/edit image via URL
- This should be used if you are adding an image straight from the internet
- Click on the ‘Add/Edit image’ toggle on the top bar
- Where it says ‘Enter image URL’ - type or paste in the URL that the image appears on (e.g. www.google.co.uk/....)
- Where it says ‘alt’ type in the title / description that will show if someone hovers over the photo
- Click on ‘OK’ - the image will be added
- Click on ‘Post’ to post your topic or reply
How to upload a photo
- Click on the ‘Upload a new photo’ button
- Click on ‘Choose File’
- Select your photo from where you have saved it on your computer/hard drive and click ‘open’
- Click on ‘Upload’ - this will then upload the photo to your post (Note: The file size of the photo must be less than 50MB otherwise it won’t upload)
- Click on ‘Post’ to post your topic or reply
How to attach an already uploaded photo
- Click on the ‘Attach an already uploaded photo’ button
- Select the album where your picture is saved (i.e. Your profile pictures’) and click on ‘Select album’
- You will then be shown all the photos you can select within that album, click on ‘Select’ beneath the photo you want to attach’ – this will then attach the photo to your post
- Click on ‘Post’ to post your topic or reply
How to attach a file
- Click on ‘Choose File’ and select the file you require from where you have saved it on your computer/hard drive and click ‘open’
- Click on ‘Upload’ (Note: The file size must be less than 50MB otherwise it won’t upload)
- Click on ‘Post’ to post your topic or reply
